Twenty wonderful years: Who'd a thought?

We met twenty years ago today. And what a great twenty years it has been. We've been to so many different places together, have so many great friends and we have managed to create a home that we are very happy with, garden and all. It mightn't seem like much to most people, but we're both conscious that if we'd been been born a generation before none of it would have been possible. Life changes, and can be wonderful. I'm so lucky to have this relationship and this time.

Congratulations, Jeremy - this is a lovely anniversary to be celebrating and I hope you enjoy many more together. (I know this comment is very late - I found this post when I subscribed to your blog today).
Seeing this post has indeed reminded me that it is only in the last 20 years that you and other gay friends of mine can enjoy happiness with a loved one in a society open to diversity in all its forms. There is some way to go, but there's a lot of good will and determination to improve things too.
Best wishes,
Lisa Hill
